Graduate Student Teacher of the Year

Candidate must be a matriculated master’s or doctoral student in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences and must be employed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) or as a General Graduate Assistant (GGA) with teaching responsibilities for fall and spring semesters of the upcoming academic year.

Doctoral Student Researcher of the Year

Candidate must be a matriculated doctoral student in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences and must be employed as a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA), Graduate Instructor (GI), General Graduate Assistant (GGA) for fall and spring semesters of the upcoming academic year.

Legacy of Utah State

The Legacy of Utah State Award is awarded annually to recognize and emphasize a student who represents the heart and soul of the university. Students recommended for this award should show a commitment to the institution and their program of study, as well as demonstrate internal involvement and service, department dedication, perseverance during times of adversity, and contribution behind the scenes. Must be an undergraduate student in CAAS during the next academic year.

Undergraduate Researcher of the Year

In addition to being an excellent student, a notable undergraduate researcher is one who has consistently engaged in independent inquiry, through classes, student employment, and independent research grants (URCO). Students also typically seek to share their results at undergraduate research events or professional conferences.  Must be an undergraduate student in CAAS during the next academic year.

Scholar of the Year

Scholars of the Year display well-rounded excellence in all that they do. Nominees should demonstrate personal development found beyond classroom walls and dedication and contribution to the college.

The recipient shall have participated in the following manner:

  1. Achieved outstanding academic success.
  2. Inspired other students through exemplary conduct.
  3. Developed interest and expertise outside of academic area.
  4. Made a significant, lasting contribution to the department, college, general campus, and community.
  5. Exhibited traits of maturity, sincerity, and dependability.
  6. Been well-liked by students, faculty, and staff.
  7. Developed personal talents and abilities in a significant manner.
  8. Furthered personal and professional goals through widespread academic, social, and extra-curricular involvement.
  9. Must be an undergraduate student in CAAS during the next academic year.
