Biography
Dr. Wang merges his passion for unraveling the mysteries of climate dynamics with his expertise in climate and weather extremes, impacts, and prediction. As the author of the timely monograph "Climate Extremes: Patterns and Mechanisms" for the American Geophysical Union, his academic journey, dotted with over 170 publications, spans an intriguing array of topics from flood to wildfire, risk assessment, and the nuances of climate change on commodity markets. At the Utah Climate Center, he was the maestro behind many pioneering research and development initiatives. An enthusiastic advocate for climate services and demystifying climate financial risks, Dr. Wang also has an interesting backstory. In a past chapter of his life, he navigated the skies as an Air Force weather officer and captured the world through his lens as a freelance photographer.
