To become a veterinarian you’ll need a Degree of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). This degree is typically received after acceptance to a 4-year postbaccalaureate program. USU’s Bioveterinary Science program is designed to help prepare students for this Vet school. Beginning Fall 2025 USU will have their own, 4-year Veterinary Medicine program for students to apply to after their bachelors degree. For more information about our Veterinary Medicine Graduate program contact Ryan Soelberg at ryan.soelberg@usu.edu.
What’s the best way to get involved as an Undergraduate Student in CAAS?
There are many ways to get involved! Two of the easiest ways are Clubs and Leadership opportunities.
Clubs: Check out our CAAS Student Club page. There are clubs representing every within the college. Many students use clubs to give them experience outside of the classroom and to compliment the majors they’re in. Studying equine science but really like other animals too? Consider joining the sheep and goat club!
Dean’s Leadership Council: This program provides opportunities for students to be leaders within our college and the University as a whole. Ambassadors work to help recruit future Aggies around the country, and Council focuses on providing resources for current students. If you’re looking for leadership opportunities, this organization is a great one! Applications for the Fall open Spring of the previous year (typically between January and March).
