Urban Air Mobility and Drones

Planning for the future of unmanned aerial vehicles will become an essential role for community decision makers. Businesses and consumers are lining up to see how this technology might contribute and impact day-to-day activities. Most of the (published) work on this topic has centered on logistics planning. Our work focuses on identifying planning implications and social impacts as result of unmanned aerial systems into the urban fabric. Specifically, we are working to understand where we might locate infrastructure such as micro-scale landing pads for package, food and medical delivery to residential communities.
