This summer, Utah State University's distinguished professor, Dr. Man-Keun Kim, engaged in an enriching academic collaboration with National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) as part of the iPACE program. His visit was marked by a series of impactful teaching, research, and advisory activities.
Leading the course on Climate Change Economics, Dr. Kim (first from the left in the photo) developed this curriculum for both NCHU and USU. His evening lectures sparked discussions that continue to inspire students and faculty, emphasizing the need for a multifaceted approach to combat climate change.
The course delved into the economic aspects of climate change, offering vital insights on how economic strategies can tackle environmental challenges. This important course will soon be part of USU's Climate Science Program.
In addition to teaching, he played a pivotal role as a co-advisor for Paul Cheng, an IMPA student, alongside Dr. Allen Hsieh. This mentorship reflects Dr. Kim’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in economic and policy research.
"This event marked a significant academic exchange between USU and NCHU," commented iPACE Director Simon Wang. "It highlights the power of international collaboration in addressing global issues like climate change, a pressing topic shared by the 'C' of iPACE."
