USU Professors Awarded 2022 NACTA Educator Honors

(Wooster, OH) - Seven of Utah State University’s College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences faculty members have been honored by the 2022 North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture at the organization’s annual conference.

Two received the NACTA Educator Award, David Anderson, professional practice professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning and Heloisa Rutigliano, associate professor in the Department of Animal, Dairy, and Veterinary Sciences (ADVS) and USU College of Veterinary Medicine. The award recognizes individuals whose efforts represent the very best in agricultural higher education. Award nominations are reviewed by a committee of 36 NACTA members from all over the United States. Anderson and Rutigliano have previously been recognized for their outstanding teaching by the college and university.

Five more faculty members were evaluated by their colleagues and their names submitted for consideration for Faculty Teaching Award of Merit certificates. Those honored are Justin Bergeman, director of technical education at USU’s Blanding campus; Holly Clement, clinical associate professor in ADVS and the College of Veterinary Medicine; Maria Givler, clinical assistant professor in Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Sciences; Rose Judd-Murray, assistant professor in the Department of Applied Sciences, Technology and Education; and Lance Stott, senior lecturer in the Department of Plants, Soils and Climate. The award recognizes the individuals’ overall accomplishments as educators.
