Research on Capitol Hill 2024

Each January, Utah’s two public research universities—Utah State University and the University of Utah— come together and undergraduate student researchers share their work with legislators, business leaders, and the public at a celebration of research.

Each fall semester, student researchers who work with faculty mentors are invited to apply to present their work at Research on Capitol Hill. The university’s Office of Research selected 26 students to participate in this year’s event at Utah’s state capitol in the early days of the 2024 legislative session.

Four students in the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences were among those selected and who worked to hone their science communication skills in preparation for explaining some key points and the importance of their research at the event on January 18.
