(Coeur d'Alene, ID) - Ryan Bake, an agricultural economics student at Utah State University and member of the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences Council, was selected to be a delegate at the Western Governors’ Association conference this summer.

The Western Governors’ Association is a group of 22 westernmost state governors. The purpose of the association is to develop bipartisan policies, exchange information among state leaders, and take collective action on issues that are critically important to the western United States. Each year the association hosts a leadership conference for the delegates in conjunction with their annual meeting.

Bake was selected to represent the state of Utah at this prestigious conference. He is a long-time FFA member and completed an internship at the Utah legislature. The new leadership forum in conjunction with the Western Governors’ Association conference provided many learning and networking opportunities. The conference organizers goals are to recognize and reward effective leadership and encourage its future growth. One delegate selected from each of the 22 states and territories where the governor is an active participant in the WGA.
