Ph.D. Student publishes first-ever paper as a result of NCHU-USU collaboration

February 2, 2022

Mila Yen has published the first paper in the dual-Ph.D. program as a result of NCHU and USU collaboration. The Ph.D. student, alongside Chih-Huang Weng, Nhu Anh Thi Than, and Jing-Hua Tzeng, has written a specific bio-calcium oxide driver from a waste product as an effective disinfectant, using waste materials that would be environmentally problematic if discarded otherwise. This waste product, says Yen, can provide a cost effective disinfectant for the application of controlling pathogens, thus alleviating bacterial infection around the world.
