December 13, 2022

USU signed a historic collaboration bolstering a dual degree PhD program with National Chung Hsing University that unites engineering disciplines such as biological engineering, environmental and civil engineering, electricical and computer engineering, engineering education, and mechanical and aerospace engineering.

From NCHU Vice President Fuh-Jyh Jan, "Signing an MOU with USU in a joint doctoral degree for the College of Engineering has been most important during our time at USU. After attending a signing which the USU President, three vice presidents for academics, service promotion, and international cooperation, and Deans of the Colleges of Engineering and Agriculture personally presided over, with 30 professors from the College of Engineering, I can say that the ceremony was grand, warm, and touching. Thank you to all administrators and directors on both sides who made this cooperation possible. I am very grateful."

USU's Dean of the College of Agriculture is expected to lead a delegation to NCHU in MAY, with the Dean of the College of Agriculture following suit in June. This program hopes to foster international cooperation and competitiveness for students of both universities.
