The sustainability of U.S. agriculture is threatened by the degradation and/or loss of ecosystem services through natural processes or human interventions such as reduced biological diversity, water and air pollution, and loss of soil quality.
Animal Science Farm
The farm is home to barns, storage facilities, pastures, the Matthew Hillyard Animal Teaching and Research Center (ATRC), and the Equine Education Center. The ATRC has classrooms, a suite of veterinary medical facilities, USDA-inspected meat lab, and animal physiology and reproduction labs. The Equine Education Center covers 26 acres and includes a 150 x 300 foot indoor arena, stall barn, classroom complex, outdoor arena, and bridle paths.
The Animal Research Farm focuses on nutrition, developmental biology, and management of beef, sheep, swine, and horses.
