Breeding Program

Horses

The USU Equine Breeding Program is dedicated to producing top-notch equine prospects while cultivating an educational experience for upcoming equine professionals. Our students learn the importance of cutting edge equine breeding practices including artificial insemination, embryo transfer, and live cover. Students have the opportunity to practice broodmare/stallion management, and are actively involved in the foaling process.

The USU Equine Breeding Program strives to select conformationally correct broodmares and stallions with outstanding performance records. We are proud to offer yearlings and started two-year old prospects with proven genetic talent. All of the proceeds generated from the annual USU Equine Program Sale directly benefit the future USU Equine Breeding Program.
