"Sandy" was started in the Utah State University Equine Program. In this program each horse is taught basic ground work skills such as tying, grooming, leading, picking up feet, lunging, and working in a round pen. They are taught to load/unload in a trailer, and stand for the farrier and vet. They are also trained to be bathed, clipped, and blanketed. Under saddle, the colts are taught basic body control at the walk, jog, and lope. Throughout the semester the colts are introduced to a variety of environments such as indoor/outdoor riding arenas, being ridden over logs and bridges and crossing water.

Sandy has approximately 45 days under saddle. She is a pretty mover, quick, athletic and very well-muscled. she has the ability to excel in a variety of disciplines.
