How to Apply

Apply as a non-degree seeking or degree-seeking student. Learn more about the two options and choose your path below.

Note: The MFSQ program is a graduate level program. You can view Undergraduate programs in Food Science

Non-Degree Seeking Students

This option is for those who:

  • Missed an application deadline for the Graduate School and want to start taking MFSQ courses as soon as possible
  • Want to take a few courses to see if they’re interested in the full degree
  • Want to develop a relationship with professors before formally applying, so they can ask them for recommendation letters

About this option

You can enroll as a non-degree seeking student and take up to 12 graduate level credits without applying to the School of Graduate Studies. You may choose to apply later, and apply these credits toward your degree.

  1. Go to USU's admissions page
  2. Click on the "Non-Degree" option
  3. Fill out the free application and follow instructions from the Admissions Office
Degree Seeking Students

This option is for those who:

  • Have decided to pursue a Master’s Degree
  • Apply in time for Graduate School admission deadlines

About this option

You can apply to begin working toward your diploma as a degree-seeking student immediately. You need to meet Graduate School requirements and application deadlines.
